About Russ’ Commissary

Founded in 1934, Russ’ is a family-owned West Michigan company with 12 restaurant locations and a growing food production operation.

Russ’ Commissary produces high-quality food for Russ’ Restaurants as well as a growing group of outside customers. Our USDA- and FDA-regulated facility focuses on food safety, quality, consistency, efficiency, and taking care of our people.

The Position

Russ’ Commissary is seeking a F ull-Time, Monday - Friday (5:00 A.M. - 2:30 P.M.), Food Production / Assembly Team Member to assist with the preparation, assembly, packaging, and handling of a variety of food products.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that may include assembling sandwiches and other prepared foods, packaging finished products, operating production equipment, preparing ingredients, labeling, order preparation, and general production support.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, works well with others, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in producing a consistent, quality product.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sandwiches and other food products according to established specifications.
• Accurately portion and place ingredients to maintain consistent product quality.
• Prepare ingredients and materials needed for daily production.
• Operate production and packaging equipment safely and correctly.
• Package, seal, label, case, and palletize finished products.
• Inspect products for quality, appearance, portioning, and packaging accuracy.
• Properly label and rotate ingredients and finished products using FIFO procedures.
• Follow daily production schedules and work efficiently to meet production goals.
• Follow all food-safety, GMP, USDA/FDA, allergen-control, and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
• Assist with order picking, warehouse duties, and other production areas when needed.
• Work as part of a team to improve productivity, organization, and overall workflow.

• Previous food production, manufacturing, restaurant, warehouse, or assembly experience is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Repetitive reaching, lifting, bending, twisting, and hand movements.
• Ability to work in refrigerated or cooler production areas at times.
• Ability to work around food-processing and packaging equipment.
