Community Association Manager (CAM) — Portfolio Manager, Highland Lakes (Hybrid)

Highland Management | Horseshoe Bay / Marble Falls / Kingsland, TX | Full-time | $65k–$80k/yr

About the role

Highland Management Co. is a family-owned HOA and condominium management company serving communities across the Highland Lakes. We're hiring an experienced Community Association Manager to take over an established portfolio of ~28 associations (about ~1000 homes and units) and serve as the primary point of contact and advisor for their boards.

We operate virtually — no office — with a small team, a dedicated accountant who handles the books, and modern software and automation that take the paperwork off your plate so your time goes to boards, homeowners, and vendors. You should live within roughly 45 minutes of Horseshoe Bay: you'll be on-site periodically for inspections, vendor walk-throughs, and some board meetings.

What you'll do

• Board support: prepare agendas and board packets, attend board and annual meetings (some evenings), take minutes, and follow through on board decisions.
• Homeowner relations: act as the liaison between boards and homeowners — answer questions, resolve complaints, and keep communications clear and timely.
• Financial oversight: work with our accountant on annual budgets, review monthly financial statements with boards, and manage the delinquency and collections process.
• Property and vendors: conduct quarterly site inspections; obtain bids and hire, schedule, and supervise landscaping, cleaning, repair, and security vendors.
• Covenant enforcement: run the violation process under each association's governing documents and the Texas Property Code, from courtesy notice through hearing.
• Records and compliance: maintain association records, statutory notices, and records requests on our management platform (PayHOA).

What we're looking for

• 2+ years managing a portfolio of HOAs or condominium associations, or equivalent experience working directly with boards.
• Working knowledge of Texas Property Code Chapters 202 and 209 (property owners' associations) and Chapter 82 (condominiums).
• Strong written communication — you'll draft notices, board emails, and meeting minutes every week.
• Comfortable reading a balance sheet, income statement, and budget-to-actual report.
• Organized and self-directed: you'll run your own calendar and open-items list with light supervision.
• Comfortable with cloud software — we use PayHOA, Google Workspace, and AI-assisted drafting tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• CMCA or AMS preferred. We'll sponsor certification for the right candidate.
