ABOUT THE ROLE Lightspeed Restoration of Austin is hiring a dependable, hands‑on Construction Laborer Restoration Trainee to assist with water damage cleanup, mold remediation, demolition, cleaning, and basic property repairs. No restoration experience is required. We provide paid training and certifications. Candidates with backgrounds in construction, drywall, painting, maintenance, landscaping, cleaning, moving, handyman work, or other hands‑on trades are encouraged to apply. Candidates with drywall, texture, painting, trim, or basic repair experience may qualify for a higher starting rate. WHAT YOU’LL DO Remove wet carpet, drywall, baseboards, flooring, cabinets, and other damaged materials Extract water using pumps, wet vacuums, and professional equipment Set up air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers Build containment using plastic sheeting and zipper doors Assist with moisture readings, photos, and job documentation Safely remove and bag mold-affected materials HEPA-vacuum, clean, sanitize, and deodorize surfaces Apply approved antimicrobial products and encapsulants Load and haul debris Protect customer belongings and finished surfaces Safely operate hand and power tools Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites Communicate professionally with customers and team members Use mobile apps for photos, notes, and documentation Depending on experience, you may also assist with: Drywall installation and patching Taping, floating, and texturing Interior painting and touch-ups Baseboard and trim installation Minor carpentry and handyman repairs PAID TRAINING AND CAREER PATH We provide hands‑on training and pay for approved industry certifications, which may include: Texas Mold Remediation Worker training and registration IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician OSHA and jobsite-safety training Career path: Trainee → Restoration Technician → Senior Technician → Crew Chief → Project Manager Performance‑based raises are available as employees complete training, earn certifications, and take on additional responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS Required Dependable, punctual, and willing to work Strong work ethic and positive attitude Construction, demolition, maintenance, handyman, moving, landscaping, or cleaning experience Experience using hand and power tools Comfortable performing physical and sometimes dirty work Ability to follow detailed safety procedures Comfortable using smartphones and mobile apps Professional communication and customer-service skills Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Preferred but Not Required Drywall, painting, trim, or basic carpentry experience Restoration or mold remediation experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Lift and carry up to 75 pounds Squat, kneel, crawl, bend, and climb ladders Work in attics, crawl spaces, confined areas, and varying temperatures Wear respirators, protective suits, gloves, and other PPE Perform physically demanding work throughout the day WHAT WE PROVIDE $19–$22 per hour based on experience $500 sign-on bonus Paid training and certifications Performance-based pay increases Company-provided tools, equipment, uniforms, and PPE Clear advancement opportunities Supportive, team-focused culture Meaningful work helping families and businesses recover from property damage #J-18808-Ljbffr Lightspeed Restoration
